LANCE
Lance has never gotten along with his brother, Jack. They are two years apart and have always just kind of been on different wavelengths. Lance was always more athletic and Jack was always more artistic and theatrical. Jack would sing everywhere he went, and he always took way too much time in the bathroom every morning getting ready for school. They had different sets of friends throughout high school. Jack was friends with all the drama kids and they drove Lance completely up the wall. Lance always felt like Jack was a kind of a whiner, too. If things didn't go his way, Jack would complain to their mom and dad about life wasn't fair. Lance always just kept a low-profile and just dealt with things as they came. Early on, Lance learned his life went more easily if he just stayed away from Jack.
It wasn't until after they had gotten off their missions that Lance was able to even stand to be around his brother. They ended up going to different universities. Jack stayed at home and commuted. Lance decided to move out and live with roommates. This ended up being a good thing for the brothers.
Over the past few months, Lance has tried to hang out with Jack more. He's learning that Jack isn't as bad as he had once thought, but Jack is still not one of Lance's favorite people. One day, Jack called Lance.
"Hey brother," Jack said. Lance cringed. Jack always called him "brother" and it grated on Lance's nerves.
"Hey there, Jack," Lance replied flatly.
"I think I've met the woman I'm going to marry," Jack announced.
Lance rolled his eyes. Jack always had a "woman he was going to marry".
"Oh yeah. What's this one's name?" Lance skeptically asked.
"Sabrina. And she is hot and talented and served a mission and loves to cook. She and I were just in a production together and we just hit it off. We've been dating for two weeks. She's coming over Sunday to meet Mom and Dad and our other sibs. Do you think you can come home this weekend to meet her? I think you'll like her."
Lance sighed, "Um, I'm going to have to see what Hailey has planned, but we can probably swing by."
"That's great! I think I'm going to propose later that night. I just want everyone to meet her before I do."
"Propose? Like to be married for real?" Lance yelled into his phone, "Don't you think it's a little fast, Jack? Do you even have a ring?"
